Dr. Abdelmajid BenAmara is a full Professor of Mechanical Engineering at National Engineering School of Monastir (ENIM) in Tunisia. He is elected to be the Director of the ENIM since August the 1st 2011. He is also elected to be the President of Tunisian Mechanical Engineering Society and to be the President of the Mediterranean Network for Engineering Schools and Technical Universities-RMEI. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science and Automation, respectively, from National Engineering School of Tunis {Tunisia) and Valenciennes University (France) in 1998. After a long experience in teaching and scientific research at the National Engineering School of Monastir, He was appointed as the Director-General of Scientific Research in the MHESR - Tunisia for 3 years (16-19), and then as the Director-General of Higher Education in the MHESR – Tunisia (19-22). Before his election as Secretary-General of the FASRC in 2022, he held the position of Director-General of the National Publishing Center – Tunisia.
Dr. Abdelmajid Benamara represents Tunisia in the "Permanent Committee for Scientific Research and Innovation in Arab Countries" at the Arab Organization for Education, Culture, and Science. He also represents Tunisia in the PRIMA-MED Foundation, which includes 19 Mediterranean countries and is based in Barcelona, Spain. He was also elected as a member of its steering committee and a member of its board of trusties in 2017.
After his academic career, he integrated the Mechanical Engineering Department at the National Engineering School of Monastir in Tunisia, and he was a head of this department from 1999 to 2002. He contributes to the teaching of CAD, CAM, CAE and manufacturing technologies. Since 1998 Prof. BenAmara contributes to the creation of the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory. He has developed research projects with French and Canadian well known laboratories and he contributed to organize many international conferences in this field (CMSM, JAC, ICAMEM, JSTMM, etc). He has also been invited to visit several international laboratories in French, Canada and USA. Dr. BenAmara's research areas include: CAD/CAMICAE integration, Manufacturing Technologies and Mechanical Design Methodology. He has graduated over 25 PhDs and MS students at the National Engineering school of Monasrir.
