Mrs. Areej ATALLA

Areej Atalla is the Head of Social and Human Sciences (SHS) Sector at UNESCO Cairo Office.

She  holds a bachelor degree in computer engineering and master's degree in international policies  and Crisis management. During the past 12 years , she served in various UN positions within  UNRWA, FAO and UNESCO.

The last five years of her career focused on the  inclusive social development programmes and activities.

The most prominent and priority topic that her sector is focusing on now is the ethical and responsible use of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Neurotechnology, so that the downside risks of these technologies can be avoided.
