Dr. Mona Nabil Demaidi is a leading AI expert, academic leader, and entrepreneur shaping national and institutional AI transformation. She serves as the Vice President for Artificial Intelligence and Director of International Relations at the Arab American University (AAUP), where she leads strategic initiatives that integrate AI across education, research, governance, and student services.

Nationally, Dr. Demaidi authored the Palestinian National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, making her the principal architect of the country’s AI vision. She also led UNESCO’s AI Readiness Assessment and the UNESCO AI & Ethics Policy for Palestine, establishing national frameworks that advance responsible and ethical AI adoption.
