Sylvia Solf is the World Bank’s Practice Manager for Digital for Africa, Middle East, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

In this capacity, she oversees the World Bank’s lending, advisory and knowledge programs to advance digital transformation in the region.

Prior to this role, she has led various global teams in the World Bank and International Finance Corporation focusing on supporting client countries with creating the conditions to enable private investment and digitally enabled business models.

She has traveled to over 70 countries researching or advising governments on regulatory, institutional and policy reform. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, she worked on portfolio management at the Inter-American Development Bank as well as in the private and non-profit sectors in Chile and Mexico.

She holds a Master of Arts in International Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University.

As a German national, she is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
